I live in NYC too. And plenty of people in my organization mentioned it. And there were unfortunately plenty who recalled "the mistress". It's not just a DS preoccupation. It made the first page of many newspapers and all leading network broadcasts.

Interesting diatribe on DS casting.. likely not even 0.1% accurate but fun to speculate nonetheless. . i do enjoy that they dismiss HBC as a Julia Hoffman and find Grayson:

JMc was actually an original cast member of Y &R . .she was Catherine's housekeeper. .now anyone who watched the revelation of catherine as Jill's mother. .please send me a message as to HOW that happened. I watched the show in the 70s and early 80s when Jill stole all Catherine's husbands and son and whatever. .oh wait! did Jill ever actually sleep with Brock. . ewwwww!
