With the new movie being made, expect numbers for 2011 and 2012 to go up.

I just back from Mount Sinai Hospital, and guess what- the doctors found no blockage whatsoever!!!!  So I guess that's good news- I didn't need a stent after all.  I'll be homebound for the rest of the week, though.  Thanks to everyone!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a few weeks ago I was diagnosed with a blocked artery and will undergo an angioplasty tomorrow. Hopefully all will go well and I'll be back at work in a week. Wish me luck.....

I saw it, and it was excellent!  Alexandra dedicated it to her granddaughter Nina, who according to her already likes museums!  Here's a link to a recent pic of Alexandra and Nina:

So will I!  She is truly a class act, and I only wish she put in an appearance at a Festival. I wrote to her some years back, and she signed some photos for me.  To me she'll always be "Vicki"!

With the recent passing of Ingrid Pitt, someone had to be the new horror goddess!  So enjoy your celebrity- you've eared it!

Thanks for the update, Rebecca- BTW, from which film is that Grayson avatar from?

Well, we've all taken Grayson's nomination for "Iguana" for granted- for DS fans it's written in stone.

There's a good reason why Joan wasn't nominated for an Oscar although in retrospect it does seem unfair.  At the height of her film career when she gave those great film performances in the 40s, her then-husband Walter Wanger was actually the president of the Academy!!!  If he hadn't, she may have been recognized for those films she did for Fritz Lang and other top directors.  If she had been nominated, there may have been cries of nepotism.  I know, but it does seem unfair now, especially that the second Best Actress Oscar was given to Mary Pickford while her husband was the Academy's first president.  One thing in Mary's favor: at the time she and Doug were the Hollywood power couple, so they could pretty much get away with what they wanted......

I must confess when I see the name "Karl Freund", I immediately think of I Love Lucy!!!!

Is the cane metal or plastic?

She's very much the 1929 version of a "Bond Girl" here, but Lilyan Tashman steals the show as a chic villainess!

44
If memory serves me correctly, "Cornelia" is the name of her granddaughter (daughter of her son Adam Isles, who was born on DS' third anniversary!).  So the first name thing may be true after all.

I've enjoyed Mr. Haley's work since Breaking Away, and he's be great as Willie!!
