Current Talk '02 I / Who's Responsible for that Haircut anyway?
« on: May 02, 2002, 04:56:02 PM »
Ahhhh, I've returned from a southern california trip wherein I didn't get shot trying to inspect a facility, yipee!  Anyway onto all things Grayson Great. . .I've wondered, who **did** cut her hair?  Did she frequent Vidal's salon?  Originally I read that Curtis said "Julia" wouldn't have such a modern, chic hairdo + he felt it made it her look 'mannish' hence the wig. .. . .I like it okay but its better when it growns and inch or two. . .It was funny to see the 2 pre-new do episodes, it was clear Grayson and the DS hairdresser weren't giving her wig the previous amount of attention they had been. . "Its soon to be gone so screw it. . ."

No problem with the new look as far as the hair went.  I do wish, however, that Julia had taken some fashionably astute person with her on a trip to Brewsters, because the clothes continue to be hit and miss throughout the show.

I guess this is probably why Grayson insisted in helping to procure her wardrobe for One LIfe to LIve.  ..

Which palor so I will know not to go to it? ;D

VAM you cheeky tart!

I'm in the minority i know but i prefer Grayson's hair a bit longer (I know Steve luvs the Vidal Sasson doo). .not the wig mind you but towards the end of the show, 1995/1971.  ..short but longer and curlier. . .liked that look.   :P  I guess we can thank Mrs. Curtis for the wigs' diappearance. . .although we all still hold her responsible for Craig Slocum. . .+/- from Mrs. DC

Below is a list of Shadow's servants (employees at Collinwood). Who from the colorful list would you pick to serve at your mansion and why?

Magda Rakosi

Was MAGDA really a servant in the classic sense?  You think she was making beds, cooking meals (aside from her own) and dusting the Old House??

I'd like to have seen Liz with someone. . i dunno who. . I'd also liked for Burke Devlin (Mitch) to come back and hangout with the changed Miss Hoffman for a while. . .they were closer in age than he and Vicki .. and then of course. .but always.  ..these 2, you*cant* tell me it wasn't meant to be (in lala land of course):

When they first arrive in 1995, they hide in the masoleum as i recall and poor Julia sleeps on the hard cement floor. . poor dear.

I'm personally glad Stokes never knew .. it was central to the plot that Julia was the one who knew and closest to B. . plus B & J had other secrets. . .it would've begged too many questions if Stokes had found out and it diminishes the need for Julia who secretly knows most everything going on. . .to always be around.

Q learns right before Julia travels back to 1897 about B's secret, i think. I don't know how he learns though .. .'cuz Eddie, Q's brother knew too right?

So many to choose from .. .candles not blowing out. . Frid scratching his nose and Hall looking on oblivious to what her co-star is doing. . I also like the Julia walking into the foggy room, a door flies open and you see the frozen ice bucket.  Hall looks, says to herself. .'just keep goin" and does. . .funny!

Current Talk '02 I / Julia's Diary Entries
« on: April 21, 2002, 09:17:00 PM »
Well I know there is a legit/serious attempt to write what Julia might've had in her diaries on the Remembering Grayson website but I've liked some of the posts here and suggests about what Julia might've kept in her little red notebook.  Shall we have an ongoing thread dedicated to the Doctor's observations of life at Collinwood?

This idea came into my head after reading Ben's post on Favorite props, under that i wrote:

***Dear Diary. . I finally got **SOME** tonight from a handsome stranger who called my name eerily. . for some reason the dogs howled relentlessly after we **did it**. . .Will Barnabas be upset, will he know? Am I now a tramp?  It felt soooo good . .. althought my neck does ache and the sunilght now bothers my eyes.***SPOILER*****

Julia's hypodermic -- just love how she would hold it so casually, like a lit cigarette.

Julia's red plastic-bound number with the dimestore lock on sale at Woolworth's, she must have thought, "Ah, yes!  The perfect volume for recording my priceless notes on a scientific breakthrough ... along with my secret thoughts about Davey Jones, Bobby Sherman, and Tom Jennings!"

Ben

What a scream Ben!

Here is a person who shows both compulsive love and the intensity to hate at one time. She reveals impatience and a cynical attitude to go along with a corrupt or evil nature that in the end all evaporate to vulnerability. Is this someone who you can easily scrutinize their heart and soul? I doubt Angelique  is a "simple" character. That is my opinion.

I agree too that Angelique is not simple. . she did try to take the curse of B and then destroy him so he wouldn't rise as a vampire. . moments of her having a conscience maybe?  Overall, she's quite despicable and all about revenge but she has her moments. . when she wants the Q man, when she finally. . years from now (well 1.5 for us?) does that 1840 thing. . .Its interesting that Natalie said Angelique was embarassed by her Mother. . .and that was one of the reasons she hired her. .
