David Warner- now that's impressive!  Just the other day Tom Jones was being shown on TCM.  And let's not forget his roles in Morgan! and Titanic!  I wonder if he's even heard of DS.......

A very underrated actress indeed.  Recently I watched again Elmer Gantry on TCM, and it still amazes me she wasn't nominated for her performance.  She was excellent as Liz Stoddard in the 91 series, and she and her daughters had watched the original series on ABC.  I am heartbroken by her passing.

Mazel tov, David!  I wonder if DS has ever been shown in the Holy Land.  I skimmed thru that magazine today at Borders and your review was right on target. 

Let's not forget Leigh Taylor-Young and future Oscar winner Lee Grant, who made a great comeback after being blacklisted for a decade!!  There are DS links: Sam Hall served briefly as a story consultant and Malcolm Marmorstein wrote for PP in its final season.  Also, each show had its original ingenue lead leave the show halfway through its run, leaving a void that was never really filled.  Another coincidence: during the first year of each show, a male character returned to town to clear himself of a crime for which he was wrongly convicted and the culprit was the member of the town's 'first family'!

Well, we've lost another cast member from DS' first year.  Michael Currie, who played Constable Jonas Carter in the pre-Barnabas era, has died at 81.  Carter was the show's lawman before Sheriff Patterson showed up.  It's a shame Mr. Currie was never interviewed about his DS days or attended a DS Festival- I bet he must have had great stories about those early days of the show.
