Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Lock/Unlock
« on: March 29, 2004, 07:44:12 AM »
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I just
noticed something.  At the bottom of some pages there's a "lock - unlock" feature.  So far as I've checked, it only shows up on a topic page that I started.  Does that mean someone can lock their own topic, or is it for something else?  (Was afraid to click it and see what happens just in case it's a glitch in the board that shouldn't be there)  (Then I'd REALLY be in jail and I already used my "get out of jail free" card).  [lghy]

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Totally & Thoroughly ~ OT ~

There's this website with a "mind reading" type game.

http://www.funnyjunk.com/pages/mindreader.htm

For the life of me, I cannot figure out how they are doing this.  I've tested and tested it and it always "reads my mind".

I thought maybe a computer wiz out there (Hi MB....) would be able to solve the mystery.
It's really driving me crazy.  I keep waiting for it to make a mistake and it never does.

Sorry if this is too OT.  I just didn't know where else to ask.  There is obviously SOMETHING mathematical to it, but I don't see what it would be.

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / Haunted Browser
« on: February 13, 2004, 11:17:21 PM »
Oh for cryin' out loud!!  It's happening again.
Earlier, I clicked on the board and I was already logged in.  Huh?  After I read a few posts I LOGGED OUT!!!

Now I click on the board again, and I'm already logged in!  Why on earth could this be happening?

It's always SOMETHING with this damned computer.  I've HAD it.  I'm moving to Tangiers or something.

Oh yeah -- also, what exactly is Java?  Whatever it is, it's not working on here - I get errors.  Do I need it?
Can I get rid of it?

- Duh   ???

Here's an article I scanned from a magazine called All Day TV - March 1971.  Thought some of you might enjoy it.  I love these old fan magazine articles.

(I broke the scan into two parts - next part follows)

Calendar Events / Announcements '04 I / OT: Haunted House
« on: January 03, 2004, 09:33:09 AM »
My sister moved into a "new" house a few months ago.  She claims it's haunted.  Apparently things disappear and then show up mysteriously, and the TV changes channels by itself.  I believe the house was built in the 20's or 30's - not sure - BUT, it's built near historic battlegrounds.  Hmm.....I dunno.  If the house were haunted wouldn't the dogs react in some way or another?
I have to go over there tonight for a New Year's-type gathering and plan to get the details.

Perhaps a seance is in order???   :o

Testing. 1, 2, 3... / OT:Linux question
« on: December 21, 2003, 06:05:38 AM »
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but can you use Linux on your system if you also have Win 98 on there??  I mean, oh hell, I don't know WHAT I mean.  Can you have both operating systems on your computer and switch back and forth between them?  Also, obviously all my software runs under Windows - would it run under Linux?

Calendar Events / Announcements '03 II / DVD Collection Price
« on: December 14, 2003, 02:18:45 PM »
Just thought I'd pass along some info.  I was doing some Christmas shopping online at deepdiscountdvd.com.
Out of curiosity I typed in Dark Shadows and found that they're selling the DVD Collections at $43.19 - and shipping is free.  Don't think I've heard of a better deal.
Yes?  No?

There's an article entitled Trading Faces in the upcoming TV guide.  "TV trading cards take their rightful place in the collectibles market."

And LOOK what's on one of the pages...Zombie Q-Man & Barn card!   ;)
