New on the site:

* Marilyn Ross Interview

Marilyn Ross is a familiar name to Dark Shadows fans, emblazoned across millions of copies of the Dark Shadows spin-off novels produced in the 1960s. In reality, the author of the books was prolific Canadian writer Dan Ross, who used his wife's name as a pseudonym for the books. Dan's widow Marilyn gives us some insight into the most successful range of Dark Shadows merchandise ever produced¢â‚¬¦

Enjoy!

Fantastic interview, Stuart!

The painting that coterie-mc asked about can be seen at the end of the interview on the DS Journal page.

For anybody out there who hasn't seen it, here is an interview with Dan Ross himself, conducted by Craig Hamrick:

Surely there must be a site that has scans of all those gorgeously lurid covers?  The covers were the best thing about the books.

Cool, Gothick.  Craig's site also shows the cover of the 1st printing of the paperback novel #1-- the one that used the painting.  From the home page of www.darkshadowsonline.com select COLLECTIBLES, then Books, and look for the the link for the Paperback Library series.   :)

Below it, #5 includes the painting again but with Barnabas added (though he doesn't appear in the story).

A very nice interview indeed. If I had the $$ I would definitely make a bid on that painting.

 Craig was nice enough to invite me to a lunch he was having with Mrs. Ross. She was a sweet woman who talked alot about her animals. We actually took out pictures of our dogs.
