Matthew returns to Old House to hide behind the bookcase in a secret room. Mrs Johnson tells Burke about Matthew and she will stay on as a spy. David visits Burke unhappy that his father isn’t guilty and becomes suspicious of Burke and Mrs. J. David goes to the Old House to visit Josette and finds Matthew agreeing to help him.
