DVD Volume 26
« on: June 05, 2006, 09:25:32 PM »
Just ordered this via Amazon.com.  Funny thing is, it's only 19 episodes yet they are charging full price ($41.99) for it.  Bestbuy.com has it at full price too ($69.99).  Wonder why that is.

"You askin' me to give up something I like?"

Because it's still 4 discs worth of material. They're loading it down with featurettes about the series, Lara's new novel, etc.

Yeah, I just saw that in my CyberGram update.  Well, I don't mind paying $42 if they're adding everything they say they're adding.  ;)

I'd buy it if Grayson's Playtex commercial were included among the extras. But of course, it won't be.

I've gotten behind on my dvd buying. I haven't gotten collection 23 or 24 yet. This is one of the only times I've fallen behind on them with the exception of when I moved....I think it's just because I'm not really interested in the 1840 storyline or 1841PT (especially since that was how the show ended).

If I pick up collection 26, it will because of the extras more so than the episodes.

Ah, you don't know what you're missing!  ;)  1841 is a great plotline.   ;)

Very, VERY interesting about the inclusion of DS 25th Anniversary because supposedly that had been pulled never to see the light of day again because of a dispute with Frid over including footage of his rendition of The Tell-Tale Heart. But if it is indeed going to be included, that will be great because I'd love a DVD quality copy of that compilation.

This collection, along with the "Dark Shadows - Special Edition" DVD, should now cover all of the MPI VHS tributes and compilations that have previously been released.  I think that the "Dark Shadows Tribute" is the "Dark Shadows 30th Anniversary Tribute."  If so, I recently spent hours creating a DVD (complete with disc and case artwork from the VHS box) of this tape, so that I could get rid of the last of my VHS tapes.  Well, at least this version should have better video quality.  And it's nice to have less DVD's to have to deal with.
