Love this episode. Never enough Mrs. J. Matthew is downcast at the prospect of the new arrival. He spends the whole episode fretting about and trying to catch Mrs. J in an incriminating act. Elizabeth greets her and tells her to ignore the sulking manservant and also her brother. Dinner is at 8. Elizabeth tells her to avoid the East wing and basement. Later, David makes sure she knows the house is haunted and that he believes she is Burke’s friend. Even later, at 3 am, David catches her in the basement. When he leaves, she hears the crying woman.
