New Book: The Dark Shadows Event Diary
« on: September 04, 2024, 08:19:50 PM »
Many of you are familiar with the reports I've written over the years about the Dark Shadows Festivals and other events featuring series actors or personnel. Recently, I put together all of my existing reports into book form. The Dark Shadows Event Diary: Memories of Festivals, Movie Screenings, and Fan Gatherings is now available! (For some reason, Amazon has jacked up the price and listed it as a pre-order even though it's currently available through other retailers at the normal price).

It's thanks to this message board that I was able to collect as many reports as I did. The Current Event archives are a real gift. I had great fun looking back through old conversations as I was searching for my reports and reading comments from others about past Festivals, the 2012 film, the 2004 WB reboot, and other major events in fandom over the years. I'm very grateful to Mysterious Benefactor and Midnite for continuing to manage this site and for keeping all of these posts available for us to review over the years.

I encourage every DS fan to purchase this book. I bought mine thru Barnes and Noble - which was cheaper than Amazon and free shipping if your combined order meets the minimum.

Anybody who went to any festivals from 2001 forward will love the detailed accounts of what exactly went on. It certainly brought back memories for me of the ones I attended and filled me in on what I missed out with on the ones I didn't. Amanda also wrote up summaries of other DS events like the 2002 Collins Association gathering, the 2013 Friends of the 1991 series cast reunion and the most recent 2024  Remembrence  Weekend for Lara Parker and Jonathan Frid. It's also a great reference book as well for those who never got to attend a festival or DS gathering. In addition, it is over 300 pages -so it is definitely a good read.
