Kate Jackson Announced For Chiller Theater!!

Chiller Theater has announced that Kate Jackson will be appearing at Chiller Theater this coming October 25-27 in Parsippany, New Jersey. I can't say that this is a surprise, as she's been attending the occasional fan event for the past year or so. Do bear in mind that she wore a mask during her appearance at The Hollywood Show, so she may well be wearing one for Chiller. She did not remove the mask for photo ops.

That's an interesting hodge-podge of guests, but I'm really wondering what heights in horror Vicki Lawrence, the cast of Room 222, the season-one dumped cast from The Facts of Life and Ritchie from The Dick Van Dyke Show among many others have contributed to scary moments in TV and movies.

When I first started going to Chiller back in the early 1990's, it was strictly a horror convention. Over the years, it has evolved into a much more general media convention. There are still appearances by actors from the horror genre but opening it up to other types has broadened Chiller's appeal.

Coincidentally that appearance comes close to her birthday, which is the 29th. But that's probably just it, coincidental.

If we do hear, what will be interesting is what sorts of photos she'll provide for signing...

One of the photos of Kate that appears in the Chiller announcement is a Daphne Harridge shot.

Well, then perhaps she will have DS photos this time around.

And who knows, maybe the only reason she didn't have them for her most recent event at the Hollywood Show is because they provided the photos and they didn't provide anything related to DS like they had the first time around.

It's certainly possible that she may have had DS photos available but they just weren't on display. I saw that happen with Barbara Steele. She did have a selection of DS photos but you had to specifically ask for them.

Kate will be doing a professional photo shoot with fans at Chiller. As she has done at other recent events, she will be wearing a mask. The cost of the photo is $100, which is a bit steep for my budget.

Particularly it would seem for a photo of someone with half their face hidden. But then I have no no idea what prices other actors wearing masks have charged, so who knows? I've thought some actors' photos I've seen on the Hollywood site seem very pricey only to come across others that were hundreds of dollars more...

To my knowledge, none of the other celebrities will be wearing masks for the photo ops. If she's doing photos at the table, I may opt for that instead. If she's not, then I suppose that I'll just do without.

The location of the celebrities has been posted for Chiller. TLATKLS and Kate Jackson will not be seated anywhere near each other. Nor will they be in the same room. Kate will be in a room by herself. I don't know if that's due to her celebrity status or health concerns. Or perhaps both.
