DS is the Greatest Show on Earth!

Hello to all Cousins!

I am back at college and my baby is two months old.

The Collins Family have brought a large piece of land. They are building a new mall called the Collinsport Mall. What type of stores, restaurants, and services it should have? Also, if DS had a storyline of its characters going to the mall, what would each character buy, eat or get a service from?

Free free to use your imagination!

Well, for sure the 'cornerstone' store would have to be Brewsters!

A nice little place, down in the corner of the lower floor, where a person could pick up such essentials as "eye of newt", and maybe some spider webs, deadly nightshade, that sort of thing.  And a bookstore with nothing but leather bound editions of the classics.  A little chemistry supply store would be helpful as well.  Any sort of large, box shaped equipment with as many blinking lights as possible - it could be called "The Large, Box-Shaped Equipment Store"  You never know when that stuff might come in handy.  Probably some sort of GQ store for warlocks, with all the latest gloves and hats of course.  Devilishly low prices!  Oh, and for Vicki, the "Sleeveless Only" dress shop.  No sleeves - Never!

Welcome Back and Congratulations!!

You didn't specify if the mall is now (2006) or then (circa 1967)....

Which do you prefer?

Dear Goddess.....can we even IMAGINE the look on Liz's face when some little twit spritzes her with a shot of "Paris Hilton" perfume in the cosmetics department of Macy's?

I think not.

The Collins family would express their disapproval to the town fathers, and the proposed mall would be a dead project in a matter of days.

Angelique wins!

I've got a good one!!!!  This "came" to me while working on my fan fic (which is conveniently posted on my website  ;D  )   Almost EVERY time I type "Collinsport," I end up typing:

[flower]"COLLINSPROUT" [flower]

I have no idea where the 'u' comes from, but there it is.  And I thought, what a GREAT name for a local florist/nursery store!  Or maybe a garden supply place?  VERY necessary.  Where else can you go to troublehoot your pesky back terrace fountain that spews water until anybody walks by, or has a secret to share, and then shuts itself off?

If this was the 1960/70s, I'd have to say it would be a "natural foods" restaurant.  We had one in our town in the early 70s, so I'm SURE it would be a happening thing there!   Not to mention, it sounds vaguely 'anti-establishment.'  Carolyn would LOVE it.   LOL!

Hmmm - sounds like the magic shop DC "borrowed" from BtVS for his rejected 2002 FOX pilot script.  ;)

The Collinsport Mall has got to have "The Collinsport Wine and Liquor Shop".  Liz has got to have Brewsters and Bloomingdale.

I personally think Liz is a Neiman Marcus or Saks Fifth Ave kind of gal.  The more exclusive, the better.

What is Brewsters?  I don't think we have those here on the left coast.

Brewsters was mentioned during the Leviathans story.  As to where they could be found:

A sports bar version of the Blue Whale, and perhaps Braithwaite and sons - a little competition for all those Zales-type jewelers.

They'd have to have some sort of Today's Man type store since everyone seemed to always be wearing suits.  Some sort of electronics store, perhaps a Radio Shack, for David to get all his transistor type gadgets/toys and I'm sure the liquor store Terry mentioned would be greatly frequented by Roger and Quentin, LOL!

A factory outlet store for WD40.   With daily Home Depot-type classes on the use of the product.   Lots of free samples, too.   Hmm...if somebody spritzed Willie with WD40, would he lose that cute little squeak in his voice?
