11 Werewolf Movies You’ve Probably Never Heard Of

They would be wrong because I've heard of all but the Japanese one - and when it comes to the others, I've not only heard of them, I've seen most of them - and I suspect a lot of us have...

Uncle Roger, I love that movie!  I saw it when I was probably 12ish.  After Dark Shadows ended at 3:30, on another network was an afternoon movie that started at right after, and one of them was Werewolf In a Girls' Dormitory.  The teaser commercial for it was right up a 12ish-year-old's alley!  By the way, I do believe that the films original Italian title (I think it was Italian, dubbed into English) was Lycanthrope (or thropus or something like that).

There's also the horror/biker hybrid Werewolf on Wheels. It's on the goofy side but it's definitely a guilty pleasure. It's got a very eclectic cast. Stephen Oliver (the hunky Lee Webber from Peyton Place). Billy Gray from Father Knows Best (billed as William, probably to distance himself from Bud Anderson). Barry Mcguire (more well known for singing Eve of Destruction). Donna Anders, billed as D J Anderson. (the nominal heroine of Count Yorga, Vampire).

There is also Werewolf of Washington. Pretty goofy political movie with Dean Stockwell and also Thayer David. Tough to make a comedy about a werewolf running amuck at the white house but there you go...lol.

How could we possibly have forgotten about Scream of the Wolf? It's a 1970's made for tv movie of the week that is probably under public domain now. It's directed by none other than Dan Curtis and James Storm has a small part in it. It's got a very good cast (Clint Walter, Peter Graves, Philip Carey) who do reasonably well with the material. But if DC thought that it might be the werewolf equivalent of The Night Stalker, it misses the mark.

I've mentioned this before, but I was actually quite surprised when DC did Scream of the Wolf because after Frid refused to do a second Barnabas film and they were tossing around possible plots for a David Selby film, DC instantly dismissed doing a werewolf movie because he said werewolves weren't scary enough. Why he thought that, who knows?!  [easter_rolleyes]  But apparently two years later he thought they were scary enough for a TV film...

And BTW, I see where IMDb indicates it's available on Tubi. I probably haven't seen it since it first aired, so maybe tonight I'll watch it...

Well, it wasn't like he was getting a lot of jobs as a director.. Between Night of Dark Shadows and Scream of the Wolf, imdb only lists three credits for him. The Night Strangler. The Norliss Tapes. The Invasion of Carol Enders. At least Scream of the Wolf was a legitimate project.

I haven't seen Carol Enders in decades but imdb lists DS alumni George DiCenzo, John Karlen and James Storm in the cast.

I just watched Scream of the Wolf on Tubi. Besides being a crummy print, I thought the movie was muddled and I was confused.  They made it pretty clear Clint Walker was the villan and the way murders went down, no way a dog or wolf could have crashed thru a windshield or smashed thru a house ( poor Jim Storms waterloo.) But we never see him in the werewolf state or in transformation. Plus he gave a long way around explanation to Peter Graves how he did it with a coo coo reason why. In the end, hes not even a werewolf when he's killed,  and I was like huh? Even the great directors have a clunker or 2.. This one was Dan Curtis's.
