I know she is a tad looney ?!? but i wanted Millicent today to kick Nathan for making her go to the tower room! (for place just see MB's Hmm posting) I mean someone should have told that girl you are the one with the money! Also Barnabas must have some bite because it seemed to take a lot of the curl out of her hair :o

I felt a little sympathy for Millicent at first but she lost me when she started to float around staring off into space [crazd] (although I do think Nancy Barrett's insane laugh is one of the best I've ever heard!).  I'd like to shake her and tell her to get a grip and then - go do what jennifer said.

I'm no actor, but I'd bet "Crazy" is one of the hardest things to play successfully.....and I think Nancy Barrett's "crazy" is fabulous.  All the mannerisms and voice shifts won't do it....unless the eyes have that insane gleam to them.  I believe Millicent has reached the straight-jacket stage.......have they opened Wyndcliffe yet, I wonder? [crazd]

Nancy Barrett does always do a fantastic Norma Bates.  I don't know which of her whacked-out loones I like best:  Millicent in 1795/96, or the forty-something, doesn't-have-two-marbles-left-to-rub-together Carolyn in 1995.

Ditzy Millicent  =  brilliant Nancy Barrett!  She is simply marvelous in this role as well as...

the crazy Carolyn of 1995.  Some of her best performances in these two characters.

I agree Raineypark, I don't think playing "crazy" is as easy as it looks. You can tell Millicent has really lost it by looking into her eyes! She plays it off just fabulous! Also felt she did a good job with the whole Pansy Faye act!

Good question! Who knows - perhaps Wyndcliffe sanitarium was originally established in the early 1800's specifically for Millicent Collins! Not to mention just about anyone else that came into contact with the Collins family. They must keep funny farms in business.

nancy barrett is a fine actress, plays great as millicent, havent seen the 1995 version of her, but her pansy faye posession of 1897 was as good of a performance that i can recall on the show, has that english accent down.
its a sudden death that i know, my father wrote me to say that, my cousin, uncle jeremiah was, was very disturbed.

I also agree.  Like Thayer David and Grayson Hall, Nancy Barrett can play a wide variety of characters, and her characterization of each of them is stunning.

Enjoyed all the others but I agree that the Pansy Faye/Charity Trask character was her best performance!

I never fully appreciated Nancy Barrett's talent until I saw the show as an adult.  Her wide-ranging characters, ability to scream and appear to be any age she needed to be was amazing.

Millicent is ditzy, but not entirely stupid.  She knows a lot more than others give her credit for.  Being attacked by Barnabas completely unhinges the poor girl, no doubt about it, toppling her over the edge she was teetering on.

I remember reading a fan fic story in which Millicent, after Nathan's death and Barnabas coffin imprisonment, gives birth to a child that dies.  Poor Joshua is forced to watch the poor, mad girl put through childbirth only to have a dead baby--and then Millicent dies, too.

Sounds like no one thought Millicent came to a good end.
And being brought up at Collinwood didn't do Daniel any favors, either, did it?

Love, Robin
