I klnow she returns as Edith Collins in 1840.

Was there any reason why she didn't return as a new character in the present time after 1897 ended?

I haven't any idea, but I liked her and wouldn't have minded seeing her in a role in the present day.

Quite. It would have been great to see Terry in modern clothes, and lots of fun to see what kind of character she would have played. How do you think Quentin would have reacted to seeing someone who looked like Beth?

I find that to be an extremely interesting premise, given that the instant attraction he shared with Amanda was hardly believeable.

That definitely would have been a preferred idea over what we got with Amanda (which I also found hard to swallow).
