Carol, you are right. Craig was 38 when he died. I will be 38 next month. It is sad that he passed away so young. He is missed. I will never forget him. I fell in love with him. Cupid really shot his arrow straight to my heart! I do not know how old Craig Slocum was when he was diagnosed with diabetes. The kind he had strikes in childhood, known as type 1 or juvenile diabetes. Insulin is a life support but not a cure. He had the most complex and challenging form of diabetes. The research frontiers that are constantly being advanced are equally complex and challenging. Jennifer, I too like Craig Slocum best as Harry Johnson. I think he looked pretty sharp. You mentioned that diabetes is always hard to control. Long term survival has improved in Type 1 Diabetics, a direct result of medical research and improved technology. More and better drugs are also available. People like Craig are now strongly encouraged to take up intense therapy aimed at tight control, which is very time consuming and a bother, but neglect can result in death. I share your hope for a cure. My prayer along with yours and others is that one day the cure will come and unravel the mysteries of diabetes and eliminate all of its deadly complications. Steve, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your online friend. How sad! Last year, my Mom's best friend lost her husband right before Christmas. He was having insulin reactions and died in his sleep. I am so glad that Craig is back on Dark Shadows. I certainly hope so too that he will have some new fans at the Dark Shadows Festival this year. There just might be a treat for Craig Slocum fans. Wait and see. I would love to meet anybody who was in his fan club!
