what if it's a specific character that you're partial to.

barnabites?
victorians?
hoffmaniacs?
lizbians?
quentenials?
I love barnabites, hoffmaniacs, and I really love lizbians. But victorians is easily mistaken for lovers of Victoriana. I also like quentessential better than quentenials. But then again cousin is very cute, and it does make it sound like we are all related. [santa_grin] Misa

The Barnabites are a religious order:  http://www.catholic-church.org/barnabites/

Personally, I agree with Raineypark and Buzz about 'cousin' as the term to be used because it's rooted in the show's lore.

And, of course, I love that we fans of the Divine One refer to ourselves as "Grayson's Legion."

:-*  Absolutely!  :-*

And frankly, around these parts, I prefer "cousin" too...gives one a sense of belonging, among other things...

...Although, those that know me can call me darling[/b] any day...[13]

I have one of those DS club membership cards somewhere.

And, of course, I love that we fans of the Divine One refer to ourselves as "Grayson's Legion."

It's a great name!

As for my affiliation, I'll always be one of the Psychos for Selby.   [santa_tongue]

There's also the term Frididiots, but that's a derisive term, LOL!  ;)

As for membership cards, I don't remember if it had one of those (it might have, I'll have to check through my stuff), but the officially DCP sanctioned DS Vampire Club that was active in the late '60s gave out members certificates

I haven't come across the certificate yet, but the Vampire Club did indeed have a membership card - or rather, a "TOMB STONE CARD," as the following introductory letter that I did find explains. I haven't come across the "TOMB STONE CARD" either (and apparently that means that I've left myself open to potentially being attacked by the "HORRIBLE FANGS of SUPER-VAMPIRES" in my neighborhood!  [shockeyes]  [santa_grin]), but I figured I'd go ahead and share the letter now to give everyone an idea of what the club was like:

But if we're all "cousins from England".... how many cousins is that?   A picture got created in my head of a hundred or two hundred people looking nothing alike, all standing at the doorway of Collinwood, lying their asses off to Mrs. Stoddard, all saying in unison...    "We're distant cousins from the English branch of the family... of couse you'll let us all move into the Old House and fix it up.... if a guy delivering a couple hundred coffins shows up, just send him on over...."

Thank you, Magnus Trask.  Now I'm sitting here with a mental image of a bunch of us and the guys from "This Old House" standing around, talking about soil drainage, historical paint colors and whether or not the Collinsport Historical Society will allow us to remove the portico. [lghy]

It probably has to do with the part of the country I'm from, but the cousin-fan connection has me thinking of some desperate hangers-on working at Graceland.  [santa_grin]

Don't Trekkies want to be called Trekkers nowadays?

Actually its not a new thing.  Back when I first got into Trek fandom in 75 the Trekker vs Trekkie argument already existed.  The basic difference is that the Trekkies are the groupie type somewhat limited social skills group that people think of when they think of FANS.  The Trekkers are the ones who have an interest, a hobby, but don't have the reality check problems.

As for my affiliation, I'll always be one of the Psychos for Selby. [santa_tongue]

LOL you made me remember a joke club that existed in the heydey of Star Wars/INdiana Jones fandom.  The Harrison Ford Chest Lovers of America.  Had an id card with a picture of Ford with open shirt from Heroes.

I probably still HAVE that card around somewhere, too........
