Delete, but NOT Delete
« on: January 07, 2019, 11:28:37 PM »
I'm currently on my old computer, which I want to give to my daughter.

MB (or anyone else), how do I 'erase' and/or delete my 'places' ie., FB, here, my various gmail accounts, etc., without deleting my acccounts.
I'm not sure I'm saying this correctly.
I want to give THIS computer to my daughter, but with NONE of my info on it.

How do I do this? I don't want to delete my DS account..and others....

Thanks

Patti

PS....IT'S THE SEVENTH. NEW PICS ABOVE. The snowmen are cool; it's 64' and SUNNY here. (First weekend in 8 w/out rain/dreary/cloudy/heavy winds.)

Also, I'm scared if I log out of here, I won't be able to log in on new computer.

All you should have to do is clear all your browser's bookmarks and cookies from the older computer.  [snow_smiley]

it's 64' and SUNNY here.

Lucky you - it was 21 degrees out when I got up this morning (it's 31 now) and we may get some show tomorrow. Though I like snow!  [christmas_snow]

The first 5 years we lived here, we got, 'measurable' snow; in NJ, that would be 3-4'', which to someone up your way is just a nuisance.
Down here, it's 1/2-1 1/2; but, there's very few trucks to clear snow.
Also, most of the roads down here were built for cars c. 1968.
And, there's NO shoulders (sometimes I hear on the news that the shoulder of I-85 will be open to drive through...what's a person to do if they have a flat tire?)
So, many of the roads close to my home are narrow, plus, you've got about a 6 inch (no exaggeration) spare way until you go down to a ditch, which means, that the larger cars & SUVs make it tough for others....'Gee, will brake 1 or both axles of my car?"

MB...can't I delete the account on old computer, without deleting my account?

il niege il neige (can't remember which one is right..I think Midnite will though).

No, if you delete an account outright, you delete it for all computers, tablets, phones, etc. You'd have to set it up all over again with the new computers, and you've said you don't want to do that. Plus, just deleting all your browser info will delete all your access info to all the accounts you may have online that you access with a browser.

My son said I should just set my old computer to Restore Factory Settings.

Thoughts?
