Ghost in the Invisible Bikini
« on: January 09, 2018, 09:01:33 PM »
Back in June in another section of the forum there was a long discussion about Ghost in the Invisible Bikini, so I thought I'd point out that it's on Comet tonight at 8pm ET.

Among other things, perhaps after seeing it again an answer may be reached as to whether or not Piccolo Pupa is a musical instrument, an insect, a girl, or some combination thereof?  [snow_wink]  [snow_cheesy]  Though only the people of Italy may know for sure...

I might have known that would turn out to be a reference to a Nancy Sinatra song.  [snow_wink]

What I found really interesting, though, is that the lyrics to Pupa's song (Stand Up And Fight), while written under completely different circumstances for the film, are actually perfect for what women are fighting against today. Who knew?!

Interesting bit of trivia: Pupa and Aron Kincaid were the focus of a huge production number (well, huge for AIP) when the movie was still titled Bikini Party in a Haunted House. After reshoots involving Susan Hart and Boris Karloff and the change in title, the sequence was dropped. To my knowledge, the number has never been shown anywhere.

That is interesting - and too bad...

Also speaking of Kincaid, something that I didn't pay all that much attention to before and something that one does have to wonder is what was he wearing under that nightshirt? There were at least a couple of scenes where it looked like he was desperate to keep the thing down whenever it started to ride up too high and there was another scene where it obviously got caught in his butt crack. Could he have been going, shall we say, method?!  [snow_wink]

I thought Aron Kincaid was pretty sexy. I looked him up yesterday and it sounds as if we would have had some things in common. He died a few years ago, unfortunately.

This movie used to air a lot in early evening and weekend afternoon slots. I'd start to watch, enjoying the opportunity to see Boris again, then get bored once all the teen "shenanigans" began. Even as a teenager myself, I found all that really dull, obvious, forced attempts at "fun."

Kincaid's real name was Norman Neal Williams. A character named after him (thougj presumably not modeled after him) appears in Maupin's Tales From the City. The character was played by Stanley DeSantis in the PBS adaptation.

I remember Piccola Pupa being who I was most looking forward to watching when I went to see this in the theater when it was first released. Now I have a feeling that Mr. Kincaid may ge the one getting my attention whenever I next see it! [snow_smiley]

For those who missed it before, this is running again on Comet at 12am ET Sunday...

Aron Kincaid fans should pay close attention to that nightshirt!  [b003]

I have a still of Aron wearing said nightshirt, with Nancy Sinatra in her terrycloth bikini and one of the pseudo monsters. Nancy's hand is on Aron's thigh but he's staring at the monster. So which is responsible for what's going on under the nightshirt?  [snow_smileydevil] [snow_wow] [snow_smileydevil] Subtext, subtext, subtext! [evil-snowman]
