Thanks, everyone, for the birthday wishes.
great being at your table at the fest again, and all of us sharing the Dearly Departed tour!
The Dearly Departed Tour was awesome.
I know several other Fest attendees took the tour during the weekend. Our tour was comprised entirely of DS fans, which turned out to be a really good thing.
For anyone who didn't know, those large Babylonian sculptures at Hollywood and Highland are replicas of the set from the D.W. Griffiths film
Intolerance. The original set stood on the spot now occupied by the Vista Theatre, site of the HODS and NODS anniversary events where the stars placed their handprints in the cement.
So the Vista is on the Dearly Departed Tour because of
Intolerance, but Scott, our guide, realizing he had a van full of DS fans, offered to go beyond his usual drive-by and stopped to let us take photos outside the theatre. Greystone is also on the tour route, so we got to drive by there as well.
And you'll never guess what the opening music for the tour was.
