Scary Monsters #55 - DS Issue!

  Scary Monsters magazine issue #55 just came out, and it's a DS issue.  There's a great painted wraparound cover featuring Barnabas and Quentin on the front and Jenny and a vampiric Josette on the back!  I don't have access to a scanner right now so I can't scan the cover, but I can try to do that this week sometime.  I believe most of the articles & interviews were penned by DS Forum member Yendor.  I haven't read the magazine yet, but it looks great.

   Keep an eye out for it at your local bookstore.

 Actually, now that I think about it, the color painting on the cover of "Quentin" is actually of Charles from NODS.  I think it's supposed to sorta be Quentin since it'd make more sense to have him on the cover than Charles.  While Charles is in color, the other characters are painted in blue hues.  It's a cool painting.

Thanks for the reccomendation, I found a copy at Borders. Worth getting, I used to read Scary Monsters regularly, it has the feel of very early Famous Monsters issues, its very fanzine-ish in many ways, say how some of the photos are more blurred than others, but its a very sincerely presented magazine and they have a great love for their subject. Haven't finished all the articles yet, but enjoyed what I read of the David Selby interview.
  I was also happy an article on a show in Chesapeake Va that some aquaintances, Clayton and Rob hosted. Anyone on the coastal VA or NC area is invited to this year's show!

      From what I gather this year's show will be in early October, probably Sat 8th. It was a small but VERY fun show last year. I believe it will be at the same location as the show you are attending, off Cedar Road new "Old Bridge".

Mark, it's called Monsterfest 2005.  The article says that last year's event grew out of the FantaSci mini-con.  The photos in the mag of the guys CyrusL mentioned are really great.
