Where is the current "Current talk" In the sub forum right?
So what's down below the Archived "Current talk" sub forum threads?
The most recent version of the Current Talk board as well as the most recent versions of the Calendar Events / Announcements and Luciaphil's Idle Thoughts boards all appear below the listings of each of their child boards. If you check each child board's description, you'll find something like:
Calendar Events / Announcements '04 II
Special events, announcements, notices of Web site updates, personal messages, items for sale, and well wishes posted between July 1 and December 31, 2004or
Current Talk VI
Topics posted to Current Talk between April 1 and June 30, 2003to indicate when the topics on the boards were originally begun.
In the case of Current Talk, the top of its
Message Index page begins the listing for the first child board: the Poll Archive board:
followed by Current Talk I (containing topics begun between January17 and March 31, 2002):
all the way through to Current Talk XI (containing topics begun between January 1 and March 31, 2005):
which is then followed by the latest version of Current Talk, where all the most recent topics are being posted:
"Two requests" last post dates back to March 25, 2002, 02:27:05 am
Why is it not in a sub folder?
Because it's what's known as a sticky topic, which is an important topic that contains information that we'd always like everyone to aware of, and which is most often designated by this icon:
. Even though they may have been started a long time ago and haven't been posted to in a long time, sticky topics permanently reside at the tops of the most recent Current Talk and Calendar Events / Announcements boards and also the Testing. 1, 2, 3... Board (which is where the most important sticky topics are posted).
Just wondering.
And the best thing to do whenever you're wondering about something having to do with the forum is to ask.
