Just received Dusty Springfield's Ultimate Collection in my Amazon shipment today. The bio that is included is written by a Jim Pierson in Oct. 2001.  I'm wondering if this is our Jim Pierson who is the head kahuna of our DS Fests?  Anybody out there know??? Seems like quite a coincidence!!

Who also thinks it would be cool of Dusty had dedicated "Son Of A Preacherman" to Lamar Trask!

Yes, it is he. At least according to another DS & DS fan, as proclaimed to me. I took their word for it.

Pierson also did a PBS special on Springfield that's frequently run during pledge weeks. Actually, his name is associated in one way or another with several different PBS music specials.

Several years ago he had just produced another Dusty compilation, and at the DS Festival I went up to him and complained because he had included *all but one track* from Dusty's then very rare 1972 LP, See all her faces.  He didn't have much to say about it; for some reason he didn't just give me the answer I'd expected, that he'd had licensing issues including it.
