Old West Days
« on: March 21, 2005, 08:49:22 PM »
Good Day to All Cousins!
I am back from Spring Break and ready to post away new topics!

At Collinwood, the immediate family has a get-together for Roger, who has been promoting his latest soda pop line, Western Collins Cola. As the family (Liz, Barnabas, Roger, Julia, and David) open their cans of cola, they suddenly travel to a new time portal: the Old West!

Please give any thoughts and /or feedback as to what would happen while Roger and the others are back in the Old West

Oh, God. Willie in cowboy attire complete with tight pants and cowboy hat? I'm gonna have GOOD DREAMS TONIGHT!! lol.

So, this wouldn't only be time travel but it'd take them across the country? Were there any Collinses in Cali? ~DJ

I'm not sure the old west idea is viable.  Dark Shadows is very much tied to the place of Collinwood.  I'm not sure the idea of the supernatural haunting, cursing, kidnapping, etc. works outside of this place.

I do think a Civil War story might have some potential.

In the Old West, people are cowboys and cowgirls. Liz and Roger work at the general store. Julia runs a whorehouse. At the saloon, the men and women would play cards and drink sasparilla most of the time. Angelique, Vicki, and Maggie would be showgirls, singing wild songs about the town. Quentin would be the outlaw, ready to have daily showdowns with visiting cowboys at high noon.

I agree (but, hey, good dreaming dvlvan  :-* ). but recently, I was going to ask about the Revolutionary War...did Joshua fight in it? FDSMS dontcha know...how 'bout Joshua?

What, if anything, is specifically mentioned about the Rev. War?

Thanks,

Patti

Wasn't it said that the "secret" room of the crypt was used to hide guns and ammo during the Revolutionary War?

Also, in Episode #409, when Barnabas was delirious from the bat attack, he, Joshua and Naomi shared a scene in which Barnabas recalled Joshua's return from the war after being wounded. It's a very touching scene.
