Gabriel shows up after a long MIA in the basement lab. He sure gets around for being in a wheelchair. There has never been any evidence that the  House has ramps going to every floor and tower.
Q and Daphne are in the Drawing room and he reveals the information that his Dad murdered his Mother. Not sure he should be blabbing to a near total stranger, but then he hired her to watch his child without much thought.
Edith also makes an appearance and tells The gleeful Gabriel that Q is in the doghouse with ther father.
Gerard wants Daphne as a follower and puts a spell on her. Gabriel catches Edith and Gerard close  and  an argument ensues with Edith calling him a cripple. Then Q catches Daphne with a letter.
you know there's a whole wing that's closed off all the time; the west wing, I go there lots of times

Gerard's sudden fixation on Daphne is very much of a retread of Nicholas Blair's infatuation with Maggie. It worked better the first time. Nicholas turned on the charm big time and it was easy to see that Maggie would be flattered that an urbane, sophisticated gentleman would be interested in her. Gerard comes on way too strong with Daphne is, not surprisingly, unreceptive.
The Dark Shadows dream sequences were always a highlight of the show and often managed to capture the bizarre feel of a real dream. The dreams that Gerard begins to induce on Daphne are nothing like that. Not spooky. Not particularly interesting. And definitely not erotic. This is the first of many and they don't get any better.
