Jonathan Frid update:)

I got several emails about this fun photograph asking how Jonathan was doing generally health wise.  Forget every stereotypical image of an 80 year old you ever saw: Jonathan remains pretty active in his community - pursuing interests he used to not have time for and spends a healthy amount of time yelling and swearing (under his breath, of course) at his computer like the rest of us when it doesn't do what he thinks it should.   His website is the one hobby we can all watch him in engage in and he is spending a lot of time talking about playing Barnabas, taking on fan points of view.  One fan on Frid's feedback section opined that "fluffing" lines was something people do in everyday life.  Frid counters that Barnabas was a living a lie and it was not characteristic for him to "fluff" a sentence.  There's plenty more to read about Frid's take on the vacillating vampire at http://www.jonthanfrid.com

hey midnite thats so cute i had a big problem with my DSL last week could not get on line
but could get on my old aol dial up that i did not disconnect everyone i talked to was so helpful(NOT)
some wanted to charge me finally made my husband call and it was fixed in an hour(kinda
reminds of when you buy a car Hmmm..) anyway have to go to bloody work for a 12 hour!!
well hope it's not too bloody!!

MYGOD!!      THAT'S a horrifying site that has no right to exist!! It fosters a misguided notion and talk about taking things out on the completely innocent part of the equation! 

The Fatal Exception Error is an MS Windows error - it has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with anyone's computer hardware. Windows is just the computer's operating system, so taking Windows errors out on the computer by bashing it to smitherines is akin to beating up someone because you don't like the food they're eating or the clothes they're wearing.    Very twisted behavior!!

If people want to bash something (and, well, I'd never normally advocate physical violence - but, in this case, I might make an exception ), they should go and bash MS because they're the ones to blame - not the computer that runs their inept code...

(On the other hand - ::deep satisfied sigh:: - there's the always soothing experience of running Fatal Exception free Linux on a computer!  )

Well, at least half of that post is tongue firmly in cheek - and you of all people should be able to recognize that when you see it.    And, of course, that site is just doing what it's doing to be funny.

But seriously, it's not censorship when the notions that are being spread are so clearly out of whack with the reality. Yes, truth is very often a subjective issue. And one man's truth can be another man's fantasy. But that's not the case here.

The first time Jonathan got an "illegal" function error message on his computer he said to me, "What does this mean?!!!?? Do you know how much I paid for this damn thing???"

When he got the "fatal error" message he thought the computer was going to blow up.  The term "fatal" has a dire ring to it for most people so I can't blame him for thinking something dire was going to happen to his machine.  I don't think he fled his house when he got the message but I'm sure he was a little weary about touching the computer for awhile afterwards
