The forum's new system allows us to post polls in which people can make more than one choice. So, to test this new feature out, I thought it would be fun to see which of the actors' characters/versions of characters turn out to be the forum's favorites.  [santa_smiley]

After voting, please feel free to explain why you voted the way you did, or wait until after the poll expires on 01/01/05 to do so.  [santa_wink]

(If these four polls get a good response, we'll add polls for other DS actors.)

Have fun!

Number 1 is Angelique 1795, number 2 is Angie 1897, and number 3 is Alexis, because she just seemed compllety different.

Angelique in 1795.  All she wanted was what was promised her.  She even came to America.  When she saw that it wasn't going to happen...well..all hell broke loose.  Put spells on people, burned down a tree, turns people into cats, killed people and healed the..ahem..sick. [Witch_Potion_Animated]

(personally, I think Angelique Stokes Collins should've been listed as Angelexis...).

The results are in and, whoa [shockeyes], some big surprises here:

  • Catherine Harridge places thrid. Like 1970PT Quentin, many fans seem to go out of their way to express their dislike for her.
  • Vamp Ang ties for fourth. Again, many fans seem to post an opinion that she's their least favorite Ang characterization (though I have to confess she's one of my favorites).
  • And biggest of all: Cassandra's poor showing!  [wow]  If asked beforehand, I would have bet that she would have placed in the top two. (But perhaps Cassandra's legion failed to take part in the poll. If so, well, you know what they say - you snooze, you lose - and your gal suffered the consequences. Let this be a lesson for future polls. ;))

i didn't vote in these because i haven't seen the show all the way through and have only seen two or three of theses different characterizations.

but i'm very surprised at cassandra's poor showing too.she was one of the best parts of the very uneven 1968 episodes.what happened cass? [huhg]

Yep, I didn't get a chance to vote. And if I had, her Cassandra would have been my choice. I have no liking for Angelique, but I've come to adore Cassandra--hideous black wig and all.

I would have voted for Cassandra if I had seen this poll, but I missed it.

It's kind of sad that LP herself doesn't recall Cassandra, at all...  You'd think those wigs would have left permanent scars!

LP's performance as Catherine was so one-note, in my opinion.  I'd be interested to hear from someone who actually enjoyed her work in the role.  I would presume that seeing the fulfilled romantic storyline between characters played by LP and JF would have a lot to do with why fans voted positively for this work.

I didn't vote in this poll but I liked Lara as Catherine Harriage Collins, she played a character so diffrent from all her Angelique's. This woman actually made you feel for her everytime she was on screen. Angelique had her moments but So much stuff happened to Catherine and again it was just a welcome change even among the C#ap that was 1841PT

If I could have voted, it would definitely have been for Lara as Cassangelique, which I guess is not a huge surprise, given my avatar.  Of course, I just loved her as Angelexis in 1970PT, too - [spoiler]esp. when she was Angelique posing as Alexis.[/spoiler]She was so bitchy and insincere, it's amazing nobody figured out her true identity earlier.
