**** MESSAGE FROM SHADOWGRAM’S MARCY ROBIN

I really appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience (it’s been a long haul) since my emergency eye surgery in late March. I’m very grateful for so many messages of encouragement, support, and healing. I also applaud Kathy Resch, who’s kept on top of everything for me.

My eye surgeon is pleased with my progress, my vision gradually improves, and I hope to be “back on my daily life track” soon. Kathy has been handling my e- and postal- mail, the Updates, etc. while I recover. I look forward to again handling my correspondence, ShadowGram, and more, in the near future.

My doctors and I anticipate I’ll be fine for traveling to the Year #50 Celebration and be ready for my various Fest staff responsibilities all weekend, including the for-fun Fans’ Costume & Presentation Gala, and getting to see everybody too. Thank you all!

Jonathan Frid on The Dick Cavett Show (1968)

Is this something I could watch on YouTube? I'd love to see this.

Thanks,

Patti

Patti, I couldn't find it on Youtube (that's not to say it isn't on there) but I wanted to mention that on the cable channel Decades, they air Dick Cavett episodes from his various shows.

I watch them if I'm interested in the guest. You can be sure I'll post it if ever I see that the Frid interview is scheduled to air.

KLS has done a video to promote an auction she will run at the Festival.  It is to benefit a charity foundation for medical research on the degenerative disease that killed her late husband.

It's amazing how upbeat KLS always manages to be, even when speaking about grim subjects.

And of course, she looks fantastic!

Her memories often need to be checked against sources.  It was "live on tape" and they had rehearsed that first episode for around two weeks if I recall correctly.  I'm sure it was all quite nerve-wracking for a young actress.

Also, if I recall correctly, in her first book (published in the 1980s) she recalled that she spoke the first line on the show, which she identified as "You are a jerk--J E R K!"  Since the first year episodes had never seen the light of day at that time after the initial broadcasts, that is perhaps a pardonable mistake.

I don't doubt that she was a nervous wreck that first day. Who wouldn't have been? But she really should research things a little better.
