I wanna come too, Annie! Especially if you have cranberries! And by that I mean the
real
kind - the stuff that slides out of a dented can in one, bit gelatinous plop, with the can-rings inbedded in it! Not that phoney, little round things floating in some sorta sauce. Ee-yuck! You have fun with your family and save us some leftovers to make sandwiches!

HI ANNIE !!! (wave) Â
Â
Â
Hey - I'm coming too (with Gerard).
It would definitely be preferable to sitting at a table with my red-neck brother who keeps telling my mother to sit down.
Brother
:Â "Sit down.....will ya sit down?"
Mother
(getting up again):Â "Can I get anyone some...."
Brother
:Â "Will ya sit down!"
Mother
:Â "Would anyone like some..."
Brother
:Â "Mom...Mom.....sit down."
Brother-in-law
Buzzy
(who knows I don't drink beer):Â "Hey Con.....how 'bout a beer?"
Happy Thanksgiving Annie!
love

Connie, your brother sounds like my brother...but there's a few things missing. My brother and his wife are divorced and he has coustody of his three children. But, my brother dosen't live with his children, they live with my parents, he, lives with his girlfriend. He's 38 years old. For Thanksgiving, my mother spends it with me, my dad goes deer hunting, the children have to spend it with their mother and my dear brother is over at his girlfriends. My mother and father has both said to my brother and his ex-wife, that they are lazy, good for nothing, and they will never get the children back....as if they wanted them...
Sorry everybody. It's just sometimes, when I think of my brother, and how my parents have to pay for his and his ex-wives mistakes, it really gaulse me. My parents should be in a Winabago and seeing Americia. And the children, it's not their fault. Like both of my parents said 10 years ago, if they wouldn't take the children, welfare would.

Oh, Lordy, Connie, that was Thanksgiving growing up with my mom! We usually had it at our house, with lotsa relatives in attendance, sometimes up to thirty. My mom would get up at like two in the morning and start cooking, taking a break to go to church at six-thirty in the a.m., and then around noon we had the big meal. Of course, she never sat down with everyone. She just stood there (or sat on a stool off to the side), in her apron, watching and waiting to see if anyone needed anything. Everyone would say (especially her sisters): "Sit down and eat!" She would respond: "I'm fine. I'm picking at a plate right here." (She had one, resting on the counter, taking occasional bites from it.) Of course, if we had other holiday meals at one of her sisters' homes, they would do the same thing.
And Annie, if you got those
real
cranberries like I like 'em, I'll be there!
