Jonathan Frid has started writing essays about his time on Dark Shadows.  He has also posted some feedback to his site written by fans who say he has ignored the character that made him famous.  Check out the start of Frid's response to the "accusation" and his plans for adding more DS memories to his website.

Thank you for the update, Nancy.  :) (note: these Halloween smileys are sooo cute)

While I'm glad he's taking the time to writing his thoughts down (once my database exam is over tonight, I'm going to have a good reading of them!) I think *some* fans might be expecting too much of him.  A couple of the fan comments were quite saucy (and not in a good way), IMO.  It's simply enough for me to just watch my DVDs and enjoy his performances as Barnabas.

It's nice of him to be doing this.  I had read one of his earlier essays where he made some very lovely comments about Joan Bennett and enjoyed it v. much.

Heh heh, I love it when he gets saucy.  :)  Looking forward to the rest.

His essays are in the Jonathan at Large area on the menu, btw.

Shoo, ghostie!

I agree with Angelique.  I can put in a DVD of Dark Shadows and I'm once again, feeling like I did over 30 years ago, and there is never-aging Barnabas.
Thank you, Mr. Frid. Thank you.....Thank you.
You were always my favorite.

The links don't work.  When I clicked on Essay #10 I got the Page not Found message and I then tried Essays 1 through 9 and they all took me back to the Home Page.

Josette, when you get to the essay page, simply scroll down.

I get a kick out of these guys who think they're so clean, when all the time they're trying to cover up their dirt.

Hi.
I know they don't.  JF is working with a young webmaster who is learning the ropes of running a website and not everything is running smoothly as yet.  You can still read the essays by scrolling down through them. That's how they will be up there for the time being.

Thanks for posting the link to the essays.  I really love JF's honest - here it is take it or leave it - style!  He's definately one of a kind!
