OT<Movies...Should I?
« on: October 29, 2015, 05:49:49 PM »
At work, came across a multi-pack spooky & detectivey movies.

I'll list more than a few; to me, on the cover, I thought it was James Franco. But, from the movie listings (some with stars, or year of release, not so much).

If anyone has any 'opinions' of these, please say yeah or nay.

Bunch of Mysterious Mr. Wong (seems vaguely familiar from my youth).

Doomed to Die (Karloff as Mr. Wong).

The Black Book, starring R. Cummings.

A few Dick Tracys.

A. Hitch presents:
The Sorcerer's Apprentice (says 'adult situations).

The Farmer's Wife; Blackmail, The Manxman

Looks to be about 20 Sherlock Holmes starring Ronald Howard, H. Marion-Crawford & Archie Duncan (don't know if they're all in the same movies, or, different actors). No Basil Rathbone though :(

Anybody? There were more; I guess my camera didn't catch them. (I know Karloff was in a few and IIRC, so was V. Price.

The movie (it says 50 movies) is $16.

Should I? Would you?

Thanks,

Patti

I was on IMDb looking up some of these movies; not sure.

But, of course, I bought "House of the Long Shadows" and "Monster Club".

(Seems like "Monster Club" may have been influenced by "Ghost Story".)

Can't go wrong w/Price, Lee, et al.

Regarding, "Monster Club", it was awful.

It was a 3-story thing.

BUT!!!!

There are great interviews; with director David Del Valle, with David Del Valle interviewing Vincent Price in 1987 (haven't watched that yet), because at the beginning of an audio only interview of D. D. Valle & V. Price:

(Del Valle speaking): "You first came to Hollywood in 1938 to do "Service Deluxe" with Constance Bennett".....What!!!! Kept rewinding; took me several times (it's the 1st sentence, again, of an AUDIO interview).

Now, I went on to You Tube (which I don't normally like to go); couldn't find just that, but:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0030732/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

That's from IMDb, of course.

Wow!!!

Wow!!!

Worth it just for the interviews!!

The interview also talks (amongst many, many other things), "Laura", which, I had forgotten Vincent Price was in. They were saying how Otto Preminger hated Clifton Webb, who, in my opinion, is the crown gem in that movie.

Again, it 'seems' as if the who movie is on You Tube, but, I don't know if it would include interviews.

If you want to watch it, there's (at end of 2nd 'mini movie') in the Monster Club, a strip-tease which is very watch-worthy.
