---- CHRIS PENNOCK IN NEW ONLINE FILM TRIBUTE TO EDGAR ALLEN POE

Chris (Jeb, Cyrus/John, Sebastian, Gabriel) portrays “Death” in the 12+-minute short “A POEM OF POE,” a “Halloween Tribute to the writings of Edgar Allen Poe.”

Written and directed by Ansel Faraj and “adapted liberally from Poe’s writings,” the “play within a play” mostly interprets the poem “Annabel Lee.” which some consider to be based on a lost love in Poe’s own life. In the film, Poe himself, taunted by grim Death, seems to actually become and experience the “tragedy called Man” tale.

**** “MENTAL FLOSS” WEBSITE FEATURES “14 DS FACTS WITH BITE”

Based in the inquisitive and perceptive “Mental Floss” magazine, its online website 10-15-15 features “14 ‘Dark Shadows’ Facts With Bite.” The article is a look at “Popular Culture, Television, Vampires, Witchcraft.”

The article’s tone varies: factual, blunt, curious/puzzled, somewhat condescending, impressed with what DS did and represented for its time and technology, etc.  It describes DS as “a charmingly under-budgeted Gothic melodrama about a spooky seaside town in Maine that blended the supernatural (werewolves, witchcraft, and zombies) with parallel universes and time travel.”
