I think Jeff Clark and Peter Bradford were the same person, meaning that Peter Bradford never died.  He had to keep taking the bar exam over and over again for the next 170 years until he went bonkers from the effort.

Ah yes!  I recall something Julia repeated from what she had heard to the effect that CDT had been known for doing portraits.  But in the recent past years just painted the landscapes. Based on that I think that he had a successful career courtesy of Petofi for a short while after 1897.

My least favorite RD characters:

Ned Stuart....the way he manhandled Sabrina was appalling. [spoiler]Plus the fact he was out for blood for Chris when he really didn't know what happened between him and Sabrina.[/spoiler]

Charles Delaware Tate.....started off decently enough but turned into a real jerk once he became [spoiler]so obsessed over Amanda and wanting to destroy Quentin by stealing his portrait (twice). Deserved to get his talent taken away by Petofi as far as I am concerned.[/spoiler]

I always thought [spoiler]Professor Stokes' explanation of Peter's inhabiting the body of Jeff Clark was the most sensible. Can't explain why there were no remains in Peter's coffin, though I guess we weren't meant to understand everything about the life and death and resurrection of Peter Bradford.[/spoiler]
