One of my fellow writers at Filmfax Magazine just interviewed Jim Pierson & the WB DS may not be dead!

PLEASE, if you haven't already, sign the Save the WB DS Petition.
Stregnth in numbers!
Let's show the net execs how many of us there are!
The URL is:
http://www.PetitionOnline.com/DrkShdow/petition.html

also please sign the petition to get Tim Burton/Johnny Depp interested in doing a big screen DS, not as farfetched as it sounds.
These longtime collaborators are both horror fans, DS fans, and Depp has said he'd like to play Barnabas Collins.

In case anyone is curious, David is referring to this post by yendor on the BarnabasUndead forums:
The real reason why WB said "no" to DS!

I am sure what Jim Pierson stated to Yendor is correct and up to date. Just curious as to why John Wells has recently stated that the filmed pilot is fine, may take it to another network, and the project is dead at the WB. Can someone offer a possible explanation to this apparent conflict.

I do not know the answer to Jimbo's question.
In show biz, things change from day to day.

In any event, my Save the WB DS petition hit 600 signatures today.
Signer #600 is longtime DS fan Charles Ellis, who I met at many fests.
Thanks, Charles!

The magic 600 is the number I was waiting for. I have just sent the petition to The WB.
Over the weekend I'll be sending it to UPN, TNT & Showtime.
Let's hope for the best!

When I first put the petition up, I'd expected around 200 signatures.
That I got THREE TIMES that amount is a testament to the enduring popularity of DS & will hopefully impress the net execs.

Keep signing, folks.
Even after being sent, the petition can accept signatures & will continue to update.

Midnight: thanks for signing both petitions. You're the best, as always.
Not sure I deserve your support, considering what a pain I can sometimes be!

While my WB petition did extremely well, the Burton/Depp petition is SLOW GOING!!!!

Here's a thought:
if Burton/Depp did a DS film, their star power could do amazing things for the DS franchise, making it as huge as it was in the glory year of 1969!
Then we'd have movies & series on a regular basis & not have to fight for them!
So please sign/support the Burton/Depp DS petition.

Say nay to the naysayers &
Let's Revive DS!!!!!!!

There's a website called JohnnyDeppFan.com
I emailed the webmaster but got no reply.
I may email him the petition & hope.

The WB petition is still getting about 2-3 new signers a day.

The Burton/Depp petition
had a sudden flurry, it went from 36 signers to 51 signers in 2 days, so maybe I will get enough signatures on it to make an impact.
Here's hopin'......
Spread the word!
