That make sense, except I would then expect all the posts to say new and only the last one did.
Now, THAT
IS interesting - and it's an important detail I didn't get from your previous post.
On this system I don't get the "new" icons for moved topics or the new posts indicator icon for the archive boards because I'm the one doing the moving, but I'd assumed (always dangerous
) that everyone else was still seeing them. However, I just experimented on the duplicate version of the forum that I have on my own computer by creating an archive board and moving several topics to it and then logging in under another ID - and
none of the topics I'd moved showed "new" icons on the archive board - though the board itself did show the new posts indicator (as you had explained). Apparently, unlike YaBB SE, this new system doesn't show the "new" icons simply because topics have been moved to another board, and that's definitely an excellent improvement because it simplifies matters for all of us.
The only explanation I can come up with for why that one topic in Current Talk X had the "new" icon is that it was probably because of the same glitch that's occasionaly causing random topics to regain that icon. And thanks for adding the detail about only the one "new" icon because who knows when I might have otherwise realized improvements have been made in the topic moving tool?
