The below, from the first img to the last bracketed width is a quote from Midnite (sorry honey, I didn't think to remember where; IIRC, it CE/A I 2008; not that I think you're gonna come & get me!

Code: [Select]
[img width=75 height=66]http://www.dsboards.com/SMF/Smileys/classic/occasion1.gif[/img]            [img width=35 height=30]http://www.dsboards.com/SMF/Smileys/classic/vampire.gif[/img]

[img width]http://How did I do the above? [size=24pt][color=navy]Midnite[/color][/size]

Now, I want to be able to make the fun pics/icons larger, so here goes...

Crap, I'm trying to add one, but, IIRC, the forum only allows 3 'smileys'  [img width=22 height=18]http://ww.dsboards.com/SMF/Smileys/classic/vampire.gift[/img]

Okaydokie... I understand that Midnite is enlarging an image; it is two-dimensional (hense, width & height); I only sort of understand why she needs the http://www with name of image.

And, probably, it's a set; that is, if the width is one size, the height must be a corresponding size.

Help would be appreciated. Admins, I put it in code; if you think it would be easier, please take out the code.

Patti

Posts are not limited to 3 smileys.  The problem is that the image file is not a 'gift'.

Okay, so I spazed on gifT, instead of gif.

But, again, is there a 'rule', if the 2-dim image is width size=x, will height have to be h ?

And, I'm going to find where YOU sweetie told me smileys/pics are LIMITED TO 3.

Love ya,

Patti

LOL, I didn't know this was a question:

The goal is for the image to come out looking the way you want it, so width and height are adjusted accordingly.  To do that, you can use the preview feature as much as needed.

Patti, here's the only topic I was able to find about a smiley limit in which you were a part of the discussion:

... I hit the "post" button and got this message back,  "sorry, you're only allowed to have 20 images in a post and you had 27." ...

The limit was 20 smileys per post, and for a time after it was 10.  There's currently no limit and it's been like that for quite a while.

Attachments, OTOH, are limited to 4.  And as you can see by Robservations, a post can contain multiple images.

Whichever of these you meant, I don't recall that there was ever a limit of 3.  But please do show me if you find otherwise.

Girlfriend, you KNOW that I couldn't find the 3-limit, because it doesn't exist.  [snow_lipsrsealed]

But, yes, how do I make one of the images on this board larger.

If you make a typo in the web address (every single character matters) or file name (.gif), the image will not show up.

Still not getting the ww w. // or the .gif.

If it's one of the 'more' pics, why do I have to do the above; why can't I just 'resize' it?

To resize the available smileys, you have to use a script to access them.  But please understand that we're talking about accessing the Forum's database, which isn't something you're going to find in Help files.

If it's in the DSboards forum base, why and how do I have to use the w w w.  ?

Can't I just chose the pic I want and resize?

Also, is it a specific way (example, no matter whatever codes a person uses, if it is to be centered, center must ALWAYS be first and last).

Also, when I look at yours, there is a space or two between height and width.

Code: [Select]
[heigth=34   width=25]....hmmm....is there a bracket after height then before width??

Now, I just noticed, Midnite typed img width= height=, then, after the image, it closed as (and I'm going to bold it) [img width= height=]
WHY ISN'T IT 1ST=LAST, 2ND=FIRST?

that is, if I bold & italize something, I
Code: [Select]
[bold][i]hi there [/i][/b] .....?  (now why doesn't the hi there appear italized? Code?

The code for posting images is in the row directly above the regular smileys, 2nd box.  (The icon is a portrait.)  Width and height are attributes (only) of the img tag.  If you're centering the image or aligning it right or left, you would nest the code as always, with the opening tag:
Code: [Select]
[center][right] or [left] and its corresponding closing tag on the outside.

Image tags can be used on any image stored on the internet that you have permission to use.  Please practice with those images, not the Forum's.

Use of both code tags and image tags with attributes (width, and height if necessary) are explained in the Help section under Basic Bulletin Board Code.
