Side Montage Question
« on: November 15, 2014, 08:31:55 PM »
(I never know what to call the pics on the sides of the various boards.)

On one, today, 11/15, on side there's a pic of Angelique hovering over a bed in which I think (depending on time) is ChJosette....right above that pic, is a pic of a man, not young, white hair. I have no idea who he is (RT, PT, 1795, 1896, NoDS, HoDS, 2012 Depp).....

Patti, I think you're talking about the current DS 1991 sidebars.  I believe the older man you reference is Joshua Collins (portrayed by Stefan Gierasch, if I recall aright).

Best,

Steve

Backgrounds.  [hall2_smiley]

I can see where someone might think there's a bed in the pic, but actually, no. What the pic does depict will be at least a bit clearer when that pic shows up in the '91 DS slideshow on the 28th.  [hall2_wink]  (And the location will show up more clearer on December 9th.)

That's the actor.  [hall2_smiley]

He sadly passed away back in September...

I wonder why they didn't choose the actor that played Roger for Joshua. Anybody have any thoughts on that? It appears that they used other current day actors in the roles of their ancestors.

Roy Thinnes specifically wanted to play Trask.

Did you feel any which way about that, MB? Anyone else? I'm surprised Curtis allowed it.

I loved Thinnes as Trask. And the '91 DS went to places with Trask that the original show never did and probably couldn't have gone.

Plus, Stefan Gierasch played Joshua quite well. So the casting switch was pretty much a win/win...

To me, Roy Thinnes as Trask was the scariest thing in the entire show.  Forget Angelique--there was no doubt in my mind that this Trask was a force of pure evil.

That is, when I wasn't distracted by the dead caterpillars glued to his eyebrows (just kidding).

I never knew that Roy Thinnes wanted to play Trask. He certainly went to town with it! I agree, he was the scariest, creepiest villain in the show, and the script gave him lots of opportunities.

Does this mean that Roy was one of Curtis' favorites if he got to choose his part? It's certainly a privilege that he denied Alexandra Moltke. [hall2_rolleyes]

If I'm remembering correctly (and I really should look it up - but I don't have the time right now), during negotiations Thinnes stipulated that he would agree to do the show only if he could play Trask. Read into that what you will. But honestly, what actor wouldn't want to play Trask?!  [hall2_wink]
