Another in the extensive Time-Life series of Thayer David voiceovers.  Hey, sez Johnny, whaddaya thinkin' we was goin' ta Boston for, we's gonna hold the trial right here!  "Here" of course is the 18th century Collins mausoleum, which is now supernatural Grand Central Station.  Johnny knows all about Barnabas, somehow.  Chats with key dead people, I suppose.  He does his research, you've got to hand it to him.  Why would murderers condemn Magda?  They should applaud her for her horrible murders, and give her a cheroot, already.  And lovely parting gifts.

As we prepare the scene for this very weird episode of Perry Mason, ghost gypsies enter the mausoleum room one by one, doing their little turn up on the catwalk.  And we learn a new word: "gotcho" (sp?), which seems to be the gypsy version of "gentile".

I do so hope Lady Justice treats Magda fairly and kindly.

That spelling is gadjo or gajo (for non-Gypsy).

In the repeat teaser, Istvan does a better job of gagging Magda.

I suppose once Sandor died, he was free of Barnabas's gag order (speaking of gagging). Johnny shows how adept he is at conjuring ghosts (gypsy ones, anyway), so he probably got Sandor to blab after killing him.

Yes, strange that Magda's jury should be a gang of murderers--but I suppose Johnny is supplying a jury of her supposed peers. But his supreme ironic touch is having Sandor be on the panel. Of course the verdict is a foregone conclusion.

The only truly sad part is when Magda sends Sandor back to the land of the dead--another bitter parting for her. At last her pursuers catch up with her--naturally on the edge of Widows' Hill.

And Sandor seemed so well-intentioned.  He's off in the other realm so deeply that he can't quite remember or understand that people don't want to die.
