Hello, Dark Shadows Fan,

ShadowGram (SG) announces the following breaking news for Dark Shadows (DS).

--- DARK SHADOWS 2004 SIGNS FIRST CAST MEMBER

SG has learned that 30-year-old Los Angeles-born actress MARLEY SHELTON will portray governess Victoria Winters in the forthcoming "Dark Shadows" television pilot for the WB Network. She is the first performer to be signed for the proposed new series, which will begin filming later this month in the Los Angeles area.

Marley's past credits include the films "Pleasantville" and "Nixon." She played Tricia Nixon in the latter project, which, coincidentally, also featured Joanna Going, the 1991 "Dark Shadows'" Victoria Winters. Marley also was seen in the short-lived 1993 CBS primetime serial "Angel Falls," which co-starred Jean Simmons, who portrayed Elizabeth Collins Stoddard in the 1991 "Dark Shadows."

Additionally, SG has learned that P.J. Hogan, who directed the recent live-action "Peter Pan" feature film, will be directing the pilot instead of the previously-announced Rob Bowman, who had a scheduling conflict with another project.

--- DARK SHADOWS WEEKEND UPDATE

As a reminder, this year's fan gathering and cast reunion presented by the Dark Shadows Festival will be held the weekend of August 13-15 at the Westchester Marriott Hotel in Tarrytown, New York (home of the National Historic Trust Lyndhurst Estate, where the MGM DS movies were filmed. It is located 30 minutes north of New York City.). Special hotel rates are available to attendees who call 914-333-1210 and mention Dark Shadows.

Among the special events during the weekend will be a performance of the lost 1957 "Goodyear Television Playhouse" production of "The House," written by original "Dark Shadows" story developer Art Wallace. Much of the 1966-67 "Dark Shadows" storyline was based on Wallace's teleplay of "The House," which was only aired once on NBC.

Fans interested in attending the DS weekend, which will also include a visit to Lyndhurst, should send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Dark Shadows, PO Box 92, Maplewood, NJ 07040. Updates will be posted soon to the website  www.darkshadowsfestival.com

--- The upcoming new SG #101 print issue will highlight further details for the above news and will report the latest DS developments and updates.  Subscription information for the postal-mail published newsletters is noted below.

Thank you.
