Welcome dsforever, sci-fi decided to drop darks shadows for what dan curtis productions, which owns ds, said that they wanted to explore new programming options or something along the lines of that and that they no longer schedule old shows. There are 2 networks that could possiby air ds, the soapnet, which runs all kinds of soap operas,or the horror channel which will go on the air right on halloween night 2004. There is also a new dark shadows pilot in the works for the WB network. It invovles dan curtis of course, and john wells, both who will be sharing the title of executive producer and john wells has experience in E.R. and the west wing and has a development deal with the WB. The new DS pilot if it gets the greenlight will air fall 2004 primetime on the wb nework. So lets just hope they do not put an all teenage cast in there and put some so-called supernatural garbage that seems to pass for supernatural these days like buffy or angel or charmed. I hate those shows for ripping off dark shadows. This new ds better have the same stories, settings, characters, music, opening sequence, or in fact the same show if you will, i feel that this is the only way to succssessfully rvive darkshadows and hopefully tell some good storie while not mangling the storylines from the original series which i think are essential to do, espically the intro of barnabas. What is known is that a general casting call has been issued and i think that an at least 32 years old and not some 20something or teenage idiot. But we all know that no one can be as good as johnathan frid when he played barnabas. Which he made his own and no one else can come half as good as he did, or for instance the whole original series cast, so lets hope they do this new ds pilot whith respect to the original series. I know the only confirmed character is barnabas. Mark verheiden, who now serves as co-executive producer of smallville on the WB network,is writing the script.
