Mailbox Question

Except for at the top, Hey, Patti, you have 2 messages, 0 are new" Where/how else can you access the mailbox feature? (I know it's probably some dumb thing I'm just overlooking, but I did look.)

Only down in the "YaBB SE Stats" section of the "Info Center" on the BoardIndex page, where it might say something like "Your Instant Messages: 2 New: 0". (The individual number of IMs, which in this example are 2 and 0, are the links.)

But considering that the access link that you've cited appears so conveniently at the top of every page on the forum, the system's developers probably figured that there's not really much need to access IMs in a lot of other ways.

If you're in the process of sending an IM to a another cousin but instead select "Instant Message" in the menu under Dark Shadows Forums you'll be taken to your own inbox.  What can I say?-- one day I was too lazy to scroll up to the link.

At first I was thinking that Patti was asking how to access her own IMs, but I see now that she phrased it as "mailbox feature," so there are actually other ways to IM someone:

• You can click on the Instant Message icons ( or ) in one of their posts and that will bring the feature up with their username already entered into the "To username" box.
  
• And clicking on the "Send this member a private message" on any member's public profile page will do the same.
