SHADOWGRAM NEWS UPDATE   # 319

May 18, 2014

Hello, Dark Shadows Fan,

ShadowGram (SG), The Official Newsletter & News Source for Dark Shadows (DS), announces the following key breaking news in this Official DS News Online Update "bulletin."

**** SG PREMIERE ANNOUNCEMENT:
FANS’ ASSISTANCE REQUESTED –
SEEKING ORIGINAL  COLOR 1971 -1972
DARK SHADOWS NEWSPAPER COMIC STRIPS

Hermes Press asks SG to please announce the following.

“Hermes Press, which recently has published deluxe hard-cover, commemorative editions reprinting the original 1968-1976 Dark Shadows Gold Key / Whitman Comic Books, currently is preparing a new volume dedicated to the 1971-1972 DS daily newspaper comic strip series, including the Sunday panels in full color.

“At the time, the strips were published in numerous city newspapers nationwide, with black-and-white panels Monday-Saturday and extended full-color panels in Sunday editions. They told separate original stories based on the daytime show.

“In association with Dan Curtis Productions, Hermes is looking for complete copies of the COLOR Dark Shadows comics, covering the final 4 months of publication dates spanning November 14, 1971 through March 4, 1972.

“DS fans or comic strip collectors who may be able to provide some of the needed Sunday clippings will be acknowledged in the upcoming book with a ‘Special Thanks’ and receive a complete set of all the Hermes Press Dark Shadows books,”
