**** SG EXCLUSIVE:
“GREETINGS FROM JOHN KARLEN”

SG Online Updates in recent months have shared that JOHN (Willie, Carl, William H. Loomis, Desmond, Kendrick) has been dealing with health issues, including diabetes complications. SG previously reported this has involved hospitalization and ongoing rehabilitation center treatment in the desire to improve John's mobility and further recovery efforts.

Via phone with Jim Pierson (Dan Curtis Productions, DS Festival director), John  reiterated his gratitude for all the good wishes from DS fans. He appreciates the countless cards and letters he received over the months and is now in a private home. He hopes to welcome renewed health in 2014 and looks forward to participating in the DS Festival Weekend in June in Tarrytown, NY, if he is able.

John’s been a frequent and popular guest at the Festivals for many years. His planned return would continue a tradition he began by attending the very first DS fan convention in 1977, ShadowCon, co-founded by Jean Graham, Kathleen Resch, and Marcy Robin

Fans who wish to send New Year's greetings and encouragement messages to John may mail them to:

**** JERRY LACY’S NEWS:
--- SENDING GOOD WISHES AS HIS MOTHER RECOVERS FROM A FALL
--- CURRENTLY FILMING IN NEW WEB SERIES

SG greatly thanks Jerry and Gloria Lillibridge for providing the following information. I also encourage fans to join the wonderful Facebook group, Jerry Lacy’s Friends. Gloria is the excellent administrator and Jerry frequently shares detailed news, personal photos and messages with everyone.

The best of wishes to Jerry (Tony Peterson, Rev. Trask, Gregory Trask, Lamar Trask). His mother fell at Christmas and broke her back. She was in intensive care and underwent surgery. Happily, “at age 97 she is still going strong. The operation on her back went well and she is stable now and will be going into rehab next week.” His sister PJ and her husband were close by “through the entire ordeal” and assure Jerry “she was in the best of hands in the Dallas hospital.” SG sends healing thoughts to her!

In mid-Dec., Jerry reports he went to the open desert in southeastern Arizona to film on-location scenes as U.S. Calvary officer “Lt. Col. Scarborough” in the Western web series DEAD MEN. Set circa-1850s, the character is involved in negotiations to relocate a tribe of Apaches. Jerry: “Just to let you know, Lt. Col. Scarborough feels the same way about Native Americans that Rev. Trask feels about witches.“ He rode a horse for the first time in many years but recovered from “a bit of stiffness in the legs” after a couple of days. “I have one more scene to shoot in this season’s schedule, a meeting with the Apache chief, which will be shot in January. And possibly a return in Season 3 next year.”
