Did you all SEE him!!!  Sitting there with Tyne Daly?  And when she got up to accept her award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama, and she pointed him out in the audience, referring to her good fortune in acting partners.....DID YOU SEE HIM!!!!

He looks FABULOUS!!!

Goddess bless my darling husband for putting the Emmys on when I said "Oh who gives a ***** about the Emmys?"  AND for realising who he was and calling me in time!!

(Rainey, you beat me by 6 seconds, so I just merged our topics.  ;))

John Karlen came with Tyne Daly to the Emmys tonight, and obviously he must have been her good luck charm because she won.

(Unfortunately, though, since your husband called you into the room, you missed their kiss before she went up on stage. But somehow I think it might be all over the entertainment shows tomorrow.  [wink2])

Thanks for the heads-up! Those of us who live out here on the left coast (where the Emmy's are currently going on) don't even get to see the show till 8:00 tonight, so I'll be prepared. Maybe I can catch a glimpse of him on the pre-Emmy arrival show at 7:00, since I know who to look for.

Well, darn. I don't care anything about the Emmys either so I've been just surfing around on my computer and missed it.[6184] Maybe somebody could post a screen cap? >:D

Of course, I was channel-surfing, and came back to Fox when she was already up on stage, ending her acceptance speech, so I missed it!  But at least I got to see him on stage at the fest.

Enjoy!!!

"And the Emmy goes to..."

"...Tyne Daly."

"Well how delightful to see you all again...
from this aspect.  Thank you very much.
Oh goodness.  My thanks to the Academy, to its voters.
I have had very good luck with acting partners in my lifetime as an actor.  One of them is with me tonight-- Mr. John Karlen, who played Harvey Lacey."  [Applause]

[Topics merged by Midnite]

I don't usually watch this or any award shows, pageants, etc., but the Cagney and Lacey list was a-flutter, not only because Tyne Daly won her 6th career Emmy for her role on "Judging Amy", but because  John Kalren appeared with her.  She's previously mentioned in interviews that they were still friendly.

The posters noted that JK looked "very well", which, considering that he wasn't feeling that great at the Festival, is a relief.

Anybody taped this?  Will some screen capture appear on a website?

Regarding the In Memoriam, Dennis Patrick deserved a mention.  JMHO.

You "captured" the enitre moment beautifully, Midnite! Thanks so much. :-* It all went so quickly, and even though I watched it happen, it is great to be able to view it (practically) frame by frame, and savor the moment.

I bow to Tyne Daley for publicly recognizing her fellow thespian; our boy Willie, Mr. John Karlan. What a great moment.

I hope this series of captures makes it into the Member's Archive when it reopens. I'd like to easily revisit them from time to time.

dom (who's acting like JK won the Emmy, lol.)

Well, considering they managed to fit in the cinematographer from Little House on the Prairie, I have to agree with you there.

And I'll be the first to admit to being a die-hard Johnny Cash fan, and I realize his television show was groundbreaking in some respects, particularly his refusal to edit or cut Kris Kristofferson's "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down," but, in the scheme of things, considering the consistent tributes he's received from the music industry, including this past weekend's Grand Ole Opry performances, I would've preferred to see them devote that time to those whose main claim to fame was work in television -- which also means I think they could've left out Hepburn and Cronyn.

thanks for sharing the link Franimal and for the screen captures Midnite.  Cagney & Lacey was a favorite of mine and it is nice to see John Karlen and Tyne Daly together.
