I been watching David lately, and it seems there is a pattern here....all he's ever watched is drunks....except Barnabas.

His father, Roger Collins.  Drinks when there is no reason to drink.  There was that time when he was going "100 miles down the driveway....well..it's seems like a 100 miles", down the driveway, hit the curb and hurt his head.  The Doctor, not thinking, gives him some pain medications for his head, and what does he do...takes a few pills with Brandy!!

Naomi Collins...Drinks for the love of drinking....that and because her husband is a jerk.

Elizabeth Collins Stoddard..she never went anywhere..so she drank.

Carolyn Collins Stoddard...she drank cause it was fun.

Quentin Collins...now here's a guy that not only drinks whiskey, but  takes Opium too.

I figure that when David was 17, they had to take him to Wyndcliff and he had to take the 13 step program. [8285]

S-O-R-R-Y

It could happen to anyone.  The two and the three are next to each other...I slipped.  David should have gotten an the 12 step program at Wynciff.

Again....Sorry. :'(

Oh please don't feel bad, Terry308.  We all make typos, and that one was really cute.

Wasn't making fun of your post, Terry. There is an unwritten 13th step that is an inside joke to those in 12-step programs, which made your post hysterical (to me).

Well, technically, David never knew Naomi.  ;)

As for Barnabas, it would seem as though he might have addictions far more harmful than booze...

One of my favorite liquor moments in the series is WAY back in 1897. Trying to keep Quentin from falling asleep and under the sway of Petofi again, they continously imbibe him with brandy! What an incredibly genius course of action!

Actually of all the characters, Elizabeth was one of the few who seldom if ever indulged. A glass of sherry or brandy once in a while, but that's about it. Not sure I'd even class her as a social drinker, let alone a drunk.

Go back and take a look at 1897.  Edward is belittleing(sp) Quentin, well, he thinks he is, anyway, Edward mentions Opium as he reads off Quentin memu of 'things you should not do'
