The regular update usually comes up about once a week with a new security flaw that needs to be fixed.  I don't there has been one in more than a week, though.  Do I assume I have what I need if their notice hasn't popped up, or should I check your link?

When it comes to Microsoft, one should never assume anything. ;)

If XP's update site works like the sites for their previous OSes, and if the patch has already been installed, then it shouldn't show up in the list of available updates for your computer. But to be on the safe side, you should probably have the site display all the updates that have already been installed.

Not sure what's involved in doing that, but I assume if it's already installed, it won't show anything that needs to be done - and, if it does, re-installing it presumably couldn't hurt!   :)

I'll check it out now!

Thank you very much oh Mysterious BENEFACTOR.

I hadn't heard of this, but when downloading, mentioned to my husband. He mentioned it to someone at work today, they'd heard of it and told him it was waaaayyyy bad :P

So thanks again.

(Not for nothing, but after downloading something/anything from Microsoft, I'm suprised and oh so grateful I can get back on the boards!!)
