OT<Sad & Loneyly
« on: July 18, 2003, 10:10:38 PM »
Actually my 2 daughters have been gone for almost 2 weeks....(if any of the men don't understand...this means I've been on a MARATHAN cleaning expedition).
Piles & I mean PILES of stuff from under their beds; cleaning their closets...behind/under their dressers.

Then there's the playroom/basement....

It's been non-stop and I'm not exaggerating cleaning...poor Tommy; he's used to Mommy, and 2 sisters.
So he's down by 2 plus Mom's ignoring him to clean clean clean.

But Walter (my husband) has been home (in between his 2 jobs). But Walter just left to drive to FL/Grandma/Grandpa (who have the icky girls); then to NASA, then 2 days at Williamsburg.

Don't know why, but I'm lonely (yes, Tommy is here with me). (My panic attacks prevent me from traveling any distance.)

Still have some major cleaning (my hands look like I have leprosy), but just sad...thanks for letting me talk :'( :'( :'(

((((((((Patti))))))))))

I'm sorry that you're feeling sad and lonely too.  I'll sit on the other side of Annie after I make more coffee and keep you company also.

I have panic attack disorder so I can hear you about travelling -- I get them driving.

Eleanor...I cannot drive out of my town.
Thank God I have a few friends, that when I need to go shopping, take all  back roads to the mall.

Yes, thank God for good friends!  When I had to drive (and sometimes there was no getting out of it) I would stay off the highways and beltways and I would use back roads too. And had to have someone else drive over bridges.  It's helpful when other people understand.  Not everyone does.   It's also helpful to be able to talk when you need to. :)

Patti and Eleanor,
I have just the opposite problem.  I am a terrible passenger.  My husband wants to put blinders and suggests valuim for our trips.  He drives all the time when we travel.  Panic attacks are not fun.  Have you talked to your Doctor about them?  I will drive but am not an agressive driver.  Also hate the highways and those huge trucks but will do it when I have to.
Patti, keep your spirits up.  If I were closer I would come over and we could have a drink and watch some DS.

Hi Patti,
  Here's a big hug for you!(((((((PATTI)))))))))

I know all about those PILES of junk that kids seem to stash behind dressers & under their beds!!!  Tell me about it!   And mine are 17 and soon to be 20 years old!  And I still find myself fishing out junk from underneath the beds.
My 17 year old kept complaining that she couldn't find her clothes, well where do you suppose they were??

Im like you girls when it comes to those awful panic attacks.  I can drive on the highway, but not for too long.  I use to get them alot but since I've started jogging two years ago, I've noticed they've disappeared, but that fear still remains with you in that you might have another one.  It's awful.

Patti, I hope you'll be feeling better soon.

luv

We're all metaphysically having a visit with you right now to cheer you up, Patti!  Break out the coffee!

And here's one thing to help with your hands while you're doing all that cleaning:  buy a box of those cheap surgical gloves which are sold in most any supermarket or Walgreens or some such place.  I use them all the time (I have contacts, so I don't want to get cleaning chemicals on my hands).  They fit like skin, and you just toss them when you're done.

So I told Walt before he left, call me at 7:30 (don't want to
sleep too late...gotta work).
He calls at 6:50 (that's a.m.!!!) So I'm still asleep then:
He tells me how since there were terrible storms in VA last night (here in NJ too);
there was a merge; an 18-wheeler didn't yield....now my car is SMASH (not totalled); the cops said it's 'Yankee boy Walt's fault' and, of course, we'd recently let the comp/collision to lap. Plus, then, he had a blow out..... :'( :-  :P

am I having fun YET????????????????aaaaaaaaahhhh

Oh Patti,
That really *****!  Thank goodness no one was hurt.  You wonder why you have Panic attacks.  I am a nervous wreck my daughter is off for the weekend with my car.  Driving route 2 to Amherst.  She has never driven that kind of highway driving.  We gave in feeling bad we were away for her birthday on the l6th.  We still have not celebrated and are trying to find a date to sing and open presents.  If we ever decide on what to get her.

My thoughts are with you.
