Night of the Iguana - on TCM today
« on: March 13, 2013, 08:21:39 AM »
TCM will be showing Night of the Iguana today (Wednesday) at 5:00 p.m. Eastern.  Our listings usually only show a few of the main stars.  This time they list 6, including Grayson.

Very nice. And interesting that it's on again so soon considering it was shown around a month ago.

i only saw this for the first time several months ago...

i was pleasantly surprised at grayson's prominence. i had always believed she was little more than a bit player(hence the fact i hadn't seen it until recently)but she's almost the fourth lead. i think she actually gets more screentime than sue lyon who was top billed with burton, gardner and kerr.
sleep 'til noon and your punishment shall be the dregs of the coffeepot.

One of the original reviewers in 1964 wrote that the film only really came alive for him when Grayson was onscreen.

It really was her big Hollywood moment.  Thankfully for DS fans, she was less than thrilled with Hollywood (she had lived there back in the 1940s and I think the whole scene left a bad taste in her mouth--read R. J. Jamison's fascinating book, "Grayson Hall:  a hard act to follow" for MORE).

Had Grayson really embraced a Hollywood career, she wouldn't have been available for work on DS and so...
