This year's Rondo Awards (excellence in horror entertainment) have been announced.
There are a number of DS related nominees, including Tim Burton's Dark Shadows (Best Film)
HODS & NODS (Best Classic DVD, nominated separately), DS: Complete Original Series(Best Classic DVD collection)
AND: Drum Roll Please:
my story Ladies of the Shadows from Famous Monsters of Filmland #261, which features brief interviews I conducted with Sharon Smyth, Kathy Cody & Alexandra Moltke. (Best Mag Article)
There are a few other DS nominees.

The 11th annual Rondo Awards have been announced.

The Collinsport Historical Society won Best Blog

Michael Culhane won Best Article for his interview with Jonathan Frid in Famous Monsters of Filmland # 261--that turned out to be JF's final interview.

NODS was voted Classic Most In Need of Restoration

and, in a stunner, I was named Reviewer of the Year! That one is a strictly write in category, so I honestly had NO IDEA it was coming!

The Rondo Awards are an annual award which acknowledge excellence in horror entertainment. Voted on by the general public, they're named after Rondo Hatton, a 1940s horror film actor.

in related news, I read somewhere that the issue of Video Watchdog with the lengthy "round table" featured dedicated to Dark Shadows won some type of award--best theme issue of a magazine perhaps?

It's nice to see the series so well represented!
