We may not know much about the general world of Parallel Time, but we do know that they are far more advanced in technology than Normal Time, at least Normal Time in Dark Shadows world.  I noticed something in Buffy Harrington's apartment, something I don't think I've seen in NT DS:  an electronic box with a glass screen.  I've heard tell that it's called a television.  And can you believe what it does?  It actually picks up transmissions of sound and pictures.  What other wonders could they have in that other time that do not exist in NT - at least not in DS NT?

If they had a tv in normal time, David and Amy could have kept themselves busy watching the Brady Bunch and not gone messing around in the West Wing with disconnected telephones.

Wasn't a TV seen on a set in one of the 1966 episodes?  I seem to have a half memory of that...

Kosmo13, on the Sci Fi Channel's DS Lighter Side board, wrote this hilarious crossover between The Rockford Files and Dark Shadows, in which the residents of Collinsport kept professing total ignorance whenever Jim Rockford referred to television.  I think the story was called Tombstone Every Mile.

Perish the thought Julian! If Amy and David had been glued to the TV set they may never have found Quentin! :o

David and Amy were creepy enough kids without the influence of those appalling Brady Brats.   :o

I know what you mean, Gerard. Who knows what kind of crazy things they have in that parallel world. Holidays? Snow in the winter?  :o

Gerard,

That TV looked like an old GE 17" model.  If it's the same one I had as a kid, the set had particularly good UHF reception.  UHF?  What the heck is that?

I think that Buffie (Buffy?) watched her favorite PT afternoon Gothic soap opera, "Caliginous Shadows," on that set before she schlepped over to work the night shift at the Eagle tavern, no doubt, breaking up fights between the always pugnacious John Yaeger and the always thick-headed Steve Dombrowski.

PS Is PT John Yaeger (or Yeager) any relation to the great test pilot, Gen. Chuck Yeager or former LA Dodger catcher Steve Yeager?
